Speaking recently with YouTuber Brian Tong, Boon talked about the Fatalities in Mortal Kombat 11– which are a bit different this time around, with slowed down time and beautiful looking slow motion effects that show the violence in extreme detail. The perfect, bite-sized representation of that aspect of Mortal Kombat is the Fatalities, the bloody, ridiculously over-the-top finishers that each character has- and according to NeatherRealm Studios boss Ed Boon, the Fatalities were something that the studio spent a lot of time to get just right in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11. But perhaps the one thing that people look for more than anything else in Mortal Kombat is glorious explosions of gore, and gratuitous violence like nothing else that other video games do. Fujin definitely plays quite differently from most of the MK 11 roster, with unique, old-school kung fu strikes, the ability to both hover and sprint through the air, and a huge array of Krushing Blows. It’s early days, and pro- MK players seem a little up in the air (no pun intended) on Fujin abilities. With Aftermath, however, Fujin returns to the ring proper, taking a starring role in the five-chapter story expansion. Since then, the benevolent but savvy Wind God has appeared in numerous MK titles, and even had a role in the story mode of Mortal Kombat X. Scant months later, Fujin made his debut proper as a roster member for 1997’s Mortal Kombat 4.
